아토젯TM, 출시 후 누적 매출 100억 달성
2016년 매출 200억 무난히 돌파 예상
한국MSD(대표이사 아비 벤쇼산)는 고지혈증 치료제 아토젯 TM (ATOZETⓇ, 성분명: 에제티미브/아토르바스타틴)이 출시 후 누적 매출액 100억을 돌파했다고 13일 밝혔다.
한국MSD 내부 자료에 따르면 아토젯TM은 지난해 4월 출시 이후 꾸준한 매출 성장으로 약 1년 만에 누적 매출 100억 원(5월 기준)을 달성했으며, 서울대학교병원, 분당서울대학교병원, 서울아산병원, 세브란스병원 등 주요 상급종합병원을 포함한 전국 264개 병원에서 많은 처방이 이루어지고 있다.
또한, 유비스트(UBIST) 원외 처방액 자료 기준으로, 아토젯TM은 올해 3월 매출 11억 원을 기록하며 월 처방 10억을 돌파, 4월에는 14억 원 이상을 기록해 꾸준한 매출 성장세를 보이고 있으며, 이 트렌드를 반영하면 2016년 연간 매출 200억을 무난히 달성할 것이라는 예상이다.
한국MSD Primary Care 사업부 김소은 상무는 “아토젯TM의 누적 매출 100억 달성은 국내 의료진과 환자들의 신뢰를 바탕으로 얻어진 결과”라며, “IMPROVE-IT 결과를 통해 에제티미브의 심혈관질환 이차예방효과가 입증되었고, ADA, ESC와 같은 최신 가이드라인과 유럽 적응증에도 그 결과가 반영되고 있다”고 전했다. 이어 “아토젯은 국내 유일 아토르바스타틴과 에제티미브 복합제라는 면에서 다른 이상지질혈증 치료제와는 확실히 차별화되기 때문에 지속적인 성장을 기대하고 있다” 전했다.
한편, 아토젯TM은 국내 유일의 아토르바스타틴과 에제티미브의 복합제로 이중 억제 기전을 통해 체내의 콜레스테롤을 효과적으로 감소시킨다. 아토젯TM은 간에서 콜레스테롤이 만들어지는 것을 억제하는 동시에 장에서 흡수되는 콜레스테롤까지 차단함으로써 10/10mg만으로도 50% 이상의 LDL-C 감소 효과를 기대할 수 있다.
