제약협•다국적제약협 첫 공동컨퍼런스서 여러 세션 통해 지원과제 경쟁력 조명
미래창조과학부•산업통상자원부•보건복지부 공동지원사업인 (재)범부처신약개발사업단(이하 사업단)의 지원과제들이 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 한국의 주요 신약개발 연구과제로 소개된다.
17일 사업단에 따르면 18-19일 양일간 서울 리츠칼튼호텔에서 개최되는 ‘제1회 제약산업 공동컨퍼런스(Pharma Association Conference)’에서 ‘KDDF 세션’을 포함한 세션들을 통해 지원과제의 경쟁력이 집중 조명된다.
본 컨퍼런스는 한국제약협회와 한국다국적의약산업협회가 공동으로 주최하는 첫 행사로, ‘오픈 이노베이션(개방형 혁신)을 위한 글로벌 파트너십(Global Partnering for Open Innovation)’을 주제로, 국내사와 글로벌사 간의 파트너십 기회의 장으로 마련됐다.
18일(화) 오후에 KDDF 세션(M-2)을 통해 다이노나, 한올바이오파마, 이뮨메드 과제의 핵심기술 및 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁력 등이 소개되며, 이에 앞서 ‘희귀질환을 목표로 한 신약개발’ 세션(M-1)을 통해서도 바이오니아, 한독 등 사업단 지원과제의 경쟁력이 소개될 예정이다.
본 컨퍼런스에서 소개되는 사업단 지원과제들은 대부분 First in Class(획기적 의약품) 또는 핵심 플랫폼 기술을 이용한 연구들로, 미충족 의학적 수요로 인해 세계적으로 주목받고 있는 분야의 신약개발 연구들이다.
이와 관련 김명화 범부처신약개발사업단 단장직무대행은 “국내외 신약개발 관계자들을 모시고 열리는 첫 행사에서 한국의 주요 글로벌 신약개발 연구로 사업단 지원과제들이 대거 소개되어 기쁘게 생각한다”며 “앞으로도 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 국내 연구 과제를 적극적으로 발굴‧지원하여 한국의 글로벌 신약개발 역량 강화에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 사업단은 해외 기술이전 2건을 포함해 현재까지 총 7건의 기술이전을 달성했다.
타 사업과 달리 연간 6회의 과제접수를 통해 2개월 주기의 접수/선정 절차를 정례화 했으며, 마일스톤 형식으로 연구기간을 설정하는 등 과제 중심의 지원체계를 갖추고 있다.
접수된 과제는 전문가들의 ▲사전검토 ▲발표평가 ▲현장실사 ▲투자심의 ▲협약협의를 거쳐 협약에 이르게 되며, 각 단계에서 사용되는 평가툴은 매년 신약개발의 다양한 분야별, 단계별 전문가 토의를 통해 지속적으로 개선되고 있다.
(재)범부처신약개발사업단 (Korea Drug Development Fund. KDDF)은 신약개발 분야를 지원해 온 미래창조과학부, 산업통상자원부, 보건복지부가 부처 간 R&D 경계를 초월한 범부처 전주기 국가 R&D사업으로, 2020년까지 총 9년간 1조600억 원(정부 5,300억 원, 민간 5,300억 원)이 투자되는 글로벌 신약개발 프로젝트다.
글로벌 신약 10개 이상 개발 및 글로벌 시장을 겨냥한 신약 연구개발 투자전략 플랫폼의 선진화에 그 목적을 두고 있다.
